What a great day for our clients Clayton Homes and Empire Construction, as they jointly announced the launch of a new green housing concept for apartments and condominiums. The first ever e-living community will be located in West Knoxville at Raintree Apartments, where today’s groundbreaking event was held. (This is the first of many communities – think hundreds, thousands – that will be popping up across the country!)

We had a great turn-out at the event, which was held at Raintree’s pavilion.  We couldn’t have asked for better weather…okay, maybe it was a little humid at first, but it sure was better than rain!

Clayton Homes CEO, Kevin Clayton and Empire Construction’s CEO Steve Hall explained their vision for mutli-family dwellings that are built from modular construction.  A huge take-away for many of the attendees was that the construction of a modular unit will produce only 2% scrap, which is 50% less than what’s produced through traditional construction. What better way to “go green” than cut in half how much waste ends up in a landfill?!?

Oh, and check out the cool e-living logo!  Attendees at today’s event walked away with these hats and green polo shirts.  The rendering of the multi-family units is pretty neat too.  Check it out over on AckermannWire.com.

I’m looking forward to watching all of the coverage tonight and reading about it online and in the papers.  The folks at WATE-TV, WBIR-TV, WVLT-TV and the Knoxville News Sentinel, Blount Today, Maryville Daily Times…your coverage is much appreciated!
