I expect to find the 2009 football season more interesting than last year for one reason, and that’s Twitter.
I can see it now…we’re tailgating outside Neyland, when someone holds their phone in the air and reads a tweet from Coach Lane Kiffin before the big game. That’s right. Kiffin is apparently one of the latest SEC football coaches to use the micro-blogging tool. (He has more than 2,000 followers!)
USA Today’s cover story for Sports centers around LSU’s head football coach, Les Miles and his use of Twitter. Apparently, he’s a “twittering kind of guy”. Not only did he post a tweet before the spring game, he’s going to be tweeting before, during and after the games this fall. (He only has 597 followers…bet that will change after today’s article.)
Let’s hope Miles gets distracted on October 10th…that’s when my Gators will be in Baton Rouge.
