…then our staff meetings are empowering.
A few weeks ago we started something new at our staff meetings and since it’s about sharing, it seems appropriate to share it with Ackermania readers.
It’s knowledge sharing. Every staff meeting half the staff has to share knowledge. Sometimes it’s a simple observation. But being a competitive bunch, most folks have put time and effort into sharing something truly helpful or insightful and often having something to hand out that helps make the point.
We’ve covered a lot of ground…from how best to get people talking on the phone to in-office exercises to relieve stress; from good business practices to how to spark creativity. Everyone participates.
It strikes me as a great thing on almost every level. We all learn, which is good. We learn from each other, which helps build a team. And we all participate, which is empowering for all. It all gets written down and we’ve set up a knowledge sharing file we can all access.
All this started as a one-time exercise, but then developed staying power. I’d encourge others to try it, too…you might be surprised at what everyone shares and learns.
